In special vehicles such as garbage collection trucks (packer trucks) and mixer trucks, while strength is required for components like the body, cargo box, and frame, the vehicle weight affects the payload, fuel efficiency, and driving performance. We propose high-tensile steel "WEL-TEN" for structural components that consider thinning and lightweighting while ensuring strength. WEL-TEN is a high-tensile steel plate with higher strength than ordinary steel, widely used for welded structures. By reviewing the plate thickness according to design conditions, it is expected to achieve both lightweighting of the vehicle body and components and the necessary strength. In case studies introduced by Kumagai Special Steel, there are examples of reducing vehicle weight by replacing trailer parts. We accommodate everything from cutting plates, bending, drilling, to welding and fabrication according to the drawings of special vehicles.
